Do you have any code samples on how to Wake either the notecard OR a SWAN or FEATHER device when one of them detects motion? This would allow deep sleep and saving both battery and bandwidth if the device is stationary for an extended period of time.

As a matter of fact, yes we do!
The Notecard idles at 8uA (less than the discharge rate of a LiPo battery), so there is no particular reason to put it into “deep sleep”. However, there is a lot to gained from putting your host MCU to sleep.
Here is a project I created to make a motion sensitive mailbox.
It has sample code, and provides a context as to how and why it was used.
