SINR values are out of typical industry ranges

All the resources I can find indicate that SINR should typically be between 0 and 20. However, the data I am getting from my notecards are between about 60 and 160. What is going on here? Does Blues use a different scale than most other people?

Hi @daterdots and welcome to the Blues Wireless community!

The SINR value you see is not in dB, but rather “An integer indicating the signal to interference plus noise ratio (SINR). Logarithmic value of SINR. Values are in 1/5th of a dB. Range: 0–250 which translates to -20 dB to +30 dB.” (Pulled from Quectel’s AT commands manual.)

Thanks,
Rob

Thank you for the quick response. So, I am going to assume it would be reasonable to implement this conversion equation:

SINR_dB = SINR_Blues * 0.2 - 20

Yes, that would be my understanding as well!
