Does setting notecard with {“req”:“card.wireless”, “mode”:“m”} stop possible 2 amp gsm spike?
And only max out to ~250ma?

You’re correct that "mode":"m" does require less current. However, there will always be a brief 1A spike when powering up. Also, the average draw will vary from 182-187mA maxing out at 387-412mA per the BG95 hardware design spec.
